We are building the next-generation procurement automation platform which turns the procurement functions into a profit centre. Our platform revolutionises the purchasing process by living at the intersection between buyers and suppliers:

  • We help large enterprises to find value by accessing the innovation of smaller suppliers in a seamless way - increasing efficiency and reducing cost.

  • At the same time, we enable smaller suppliers to interact with their customers with an enterprise grade platform, streamlining the process from order to faster payment.

Role overview

As Head of Sales, you’ll own our Sales function, driving the strategic direction and management of our sales machine. You will be the one spearheading the transition from our current founder-led approach and professionalising the sales process, actively driving sales to our large enterprise customers through all stages of the pipeline.

Welcoming collaborative thinking, you’ll learn how our current sales systems operate, drawing from your experiences, and bringing in new perspectives, ideas and solutions to elevate our sales function to a new level of success and enable high growth in the UK and globally.

You'll also be responsible for building a world-class sales team from the ground up with a view to achieve our Company's objectives. 

Role location
We are a remote-first company and this role is London based, so you will work from home primarily but need to be able to travel into London to work at a co-working space 1-2 days per week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop, own and implement Paid’s Sales strategy and work with the Founders to continue to drive high growth in the UK and lead the charge as we expand globally

  • Build a high-performing sales team; hiring, coaching, mentoring and progressing them to create a group of first-class sales professionals

  • Own the end to end sales cycle, using knowledge and expertise to make it as efficient as possible

  • Build a continuously strong pipeline of leads, working with the team to drive them successfully through the sales cycle and close deals

  • Work closely with prospective customers and support the sales team to negotiate terms of contracts

  • Guide the sales team to refine and optimise the function’s systems and processes so they run like clockwork

  • Define sales targets in relation to Company’s objectives and own smashing these goals

  • Work collaboratively with other teams (e.g. marketing, product and CS) teams to ensure maximum success with current and prospective customers

Job requirements

You should join us if

  • You thrive on the challenge of large enterprise selling and how to nimbly navigate large enterprise decision-making processes to optimise sales cycles

  • You’re a natural leader, with great interest in growing, managing and mentoring a team

  • You’re a strong communicator and can work seamlessly with people externally and internally

  • You want to move fast and grow faster as we rapidly scale, including growing your team

  • You have a strong track record of success in a growing organisation, with 5-7+ years of experience working on sales teams in SaaS Enterprise sales roles as either a high-performing individual contributor or in business development

  • You get a kick out of building new processes, systems and improving existing ones

Bonus points if

  • You have experience selling business process, systems-related or procurement tools

  • You have first-hand experience/understanding procurement processes and/or of the pain-point our software is solving

What’s next for Paid

With four large enterprise clients including the likes of BT live on our platform, and a strong pipeline which is building rapidly, we are looking for support and someone to take over from the founders in executing on and creating new sales opportunities. During 2022 and beyond we are also focussed on professionalising the sales process and expanding our team as we rapidly expand and start to sell internationally. We are well funded and over the next six months we are planning to nearly double the size of our team as we scale our growth.

We are a small but powerful team of 16 people and growing fast, we’ll be expanding the team rapidly from now until the end of 2022. We work hard together, keeping each other accountable, and iterate quickly so we can successfully deliver our goals.
